Another weekend, more racing for our drivers. This week, the F1 Academy returned to action at Zandvoort, with Maya the undisputed star and still in contention for the title. In the junior categories, Benjamin and Nilas fought both rivals and heavy rain at Mariembourg in the fourth and final round of the IAME Euro Series.

Maya Weug – F1 Academy, Zandvoort (Netherlands)
Qualifying: P1
Race 1 (Reverse Grid): P3 + Fastest Lap
Race 2: P1
The F1 Academy returned to the spotlight with Maya Weug shining at her home circuit of Zandvoort. The Dutch driver put on a perfect weekend, taking pole, victories, and fastest laps. After clinching pole in qualifying, in Race 1 – run with a reverse grid – Maya charged through the field to finish third while also setting the fastest lap. In the main race, starting from pole, she dominated from lights to flag to secure the win.
Maya now sits just 20 points behind championship leader Dorian Pin. With four races still to go, the title fight is wide open, and the young Dutchwoman will give everything to battle right to the final corner. Next stop: Singapore, a track where Maya performed strongly last year and where she’ll look to repeat her success.
Benjamin Westwood – P20 – IAME Euro Series, Mariembourg (Belgium), Round 4
It was also a race weekend for Benjamin Westwood, competing in Mariembourg for the fourth round of the IAME Euro Series. The young Maltese driver showed excellent pace in almost every session, despite being new to the track. But the weather had other plans—rain hampered his qualifying, preventing him from achieving the result he had hoped for.
Despite the setback, Benji fought back, climbing through the order before being slowed again by rain in the final, eventually finishing P20.
He was consistently quick all weekend, once again showing his potential. While the final result doesn’t reflect his true performance, this weekend gave encouraging signs heading into the upcoming races.
Nilas Malik – P15 – IAME Euro Series, Mariembourg (Belgium), Round 4
Nilas also took to the track in Mariembourg for the fourth round of the IAME Euro Series. Like Benji, the young Dane delivered a strong performance. In the final, an excellent tyre choice allowed him to mount a brilliant comeback. Unfortunately, contact during his charge through the field dropped him back again, leaving him in P15.
Nevertheless, Nilas showed a very positive performance this weekend. This result is a real boost of confidence ahead of his upcoming races: the COFT and the World Championship in Kristianstad. With this determination and fighting spirit, Malik can aim high and finally battle for the positions he’s targeting.
